This woman deserves a round of applause and a throne of gold. This is the most realistic & amazing thing for someone to say for this generation of students. I wasn’t able to go to college this year because my parents can’t afford to send me and I had every scholarship, grant, loan known to man and it still wouldn’t work. Finally someone gets it!

Preach!

WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR PEOPLE TO REALIZE THIS?!

SO MANY OTHER COUNTRIES EITHER PAY FOR THEIR POPULATIONS’ EDUCATION OR JUST WRITE OFF THE BILL IF DOESN’T GET PAID FOR.

THE WAY THE AMERICAN EDUCATION SYSTEM WORKS IS BACKWARDS AND MANGLED.

America, if we use a functional definition, is the product of a system built to exploit the abuse of the many for the profit of the few and this is just a part.  The American Educational System is about the creation of cooperative residents: not even citizens since citizens would have a meaningful and protected sense of agency.  To protect the privileged few from losing their position or social hegemony barriers have been erected on the pathways of social mobility.  If they profit on your ascent then you’re still behind them; if you falter on the way then they’re not threatened and there’s a place for you to toil in subsistence or languish in poverty as eerie skull along the path or scapegoat for social division; either way you stay a cog in the machine no matter how intelligent, well engineered, and advanced in function.
